Three Ladies and Three Minor Children Arrested on Charges of Conversion in Shrigonda Police Station, Maharashtra
Three ladies and three minor children were arrested by Shrigonda Police in Ahmednagar District of Maharashtra on 17 June 2023. An FIR was booked on them. The charges on them are that they are preaching about Jesus. And they are converting people from Hindu to Christian
The arrested are: 1) Shardha Aakash Sondade, 2) Vaishali Pawar and 3) Namràtha Vanarasi. The children were below 10 years and their names are: 1) Vardan Aakash Sondade 2) Khushi Vanarasi and 3) Anushka Ghadage.
NATIONAL CHRISTIAN COUNCIL has publicly condemned Bhosale, a police officer from Shrigonda Police Station for violating constitutional guarantees that Dr. Babasaheb has enshrined in the Indian Constitution for all to believe, practice and propagate their religion. NCC Maharashtra State Regional Chairman Bro. Pravinraje Shinde said that "It's so inhuman to keep these Christian minority women in police custody illegally along with their minor children, succumbing to pressure from local communal forces and for getting their favors."
