Aims and Objectives:
“The Political power is the master key of all keys” said Dr B. R. Ambedkar. As Christian community in India there is a lot of need and scope for the community to render its committed and biblical value based services through political power.
Many good people shy away from politics and settle with the opinion that politics is a dirty game. This attitude gives opportunity to the corrupt and selfish leaders to reign in politics and loot the masses and the government exchequer instead of rendering faithful and life changing services to the needy and to the whole society in general.
The political wing of NCC will not be biased to any one political party in the multi party political system in India. We got no official party and think starting a Christian community based political party may be as communal as some of the other caste / community / religion based parties. Though the idea of a Christian party may sound soothing but the requirements of resources to run such an outfit are not easy to gather or to find. So we are of the firm view that we are representing the Christian community to all the parties. We strive to seek that Christian leaders are accepted, given prime party posts and surely party tickets during elections. This is the service this wing will seek to do for the community with ALL the political parties. The Wing leaders may have their own personal party preferences or affiliations but in this position as a member of NCC Political Wing or as a President of this wing at the National, State, District levels we would expect the NCC position holder to be non-partisan and fully committed to empower the political aspirants of the Christian community to be recognized and given opportunities to serve in their respective party.
The State Wing President of the NCC Political Wing is expected to be in constant contact with the state level parties and their heads to update and to get them to be committed to fulfil the Christian community’s needs in their state. As the NCC leaders serve the community through their active lobbying and hard work in maintaining contact with all the parties NCC would see that their own position in their own political party (if any) will be further strengthened and fortified for them to give a better service through adequate posts and recognition.
The State President of the Political Wing will develop a team of politically inclined Christian leaders to deliberate on the issues faced by that State and to give active and quick advice to the District Political Wing Presidents or members when they seek for any advice.
NCC ethos is promoting democracy and peace in the nation so all the activity in the political wing should be to educate and enlighten one and all about the Indian democracy and proper use of the same for the welfare of the Christian community. Also to create avenues of dedicated biblical service rendered by the Christian leaders in all political parties which ever party they are members of.
To see that public awareness is raised to end corrupt politics and to coin the theme that political activity is to render true service to the needy and to bring massive development to the nation and not to amass wealth or to make personal gains. Where possible encouraging interested Christian men, women and youth leaders to actively participate in politics and be an integral part of a party that they like to prove their metal in serving the society as taught in our faith and through our scriptures. The State political Wing President is expected not to utilize this position for personal gain or deviating it to self promotion. At the same time, NCC is committed that each leader’s political ambitions are honoured to see that they are given proper recognition of their talents and that their party gives them key posts to do their committed service to their parry and to the society.
