About NCC

Welcome to National Christian Council

National Christian Council exists to serve the Country by promoting peace and communal harmony. It’s primary focus is to develop leaders to serve the society at large with earnest dedication and a sincere commitment. It is a human rights network to promote communal harmony and understanding between the communities and to address the issues of various sections of society and in particular the issues of the minorities with a special focus on Christians. NCC collaborates with all like-minded organisations that are serving various communities and deal with the issues of Dalits, Tribals, Women, OBCs, Differently Abled Persons and other needy segments of the society. It partners with like minded organisations from the Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Sikh and Jain communities for rendering true service to the needy in empowering them economically, socially and spiritually.

NCC focuses on the following issues:

  • To usher communal harmony between the communities in India, viz Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, Jains, Sikhs, SC, ST OBC and other religious and Caste groups
  • To bring cohesion in the various denominations of Christian faith.
  • To work at Tehsil / Mandal level, District, State and National Level for the issues of various caste groups, religious and linguistic minorities, Women, Children, Youth and to present their needs at the relevant ;local, national and International forums including the United Nations.
  • Leadership Development: To Identify and network leaders, informing and empowering them with the information needed for their development and progress. Empowering leaders at all levels to Educate, Organize and to Campaign.
  • To network with the local authorities and the police where possible to conduct awareness of civil society instruments and to raise awareness amongst the target people about their various rights they have constitutionally for their social and spiritual freedom.
  • To propagate the existing Govt of India and the respective State Govt Schemes / Programs for the welfare of minorities. The local NCC leaders will strive to see that no deserving person is deprived of his/her provisions in the Govt. Where necessary to represent to the appropriate authorities for introducing adequate schemes that assist the needy.
  • To conduct Human Rights Seminars and Human Rights awareness camps throughout the country at various levels to inform the salient features of the Indian Constitution. To highlight the fundamental Rights and to bring full awareness of the Duties too. To promote the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. To conduct Communal Harmony symposiums for various target groups and to train the youth to participate actively in nation building process besides counseling for their career opportunities.
  • To identify state specific issues in all the states of India to promote the local needs and pending issues, to seek their redressal at the appropriate agencies.
  • Like in A.P. for example to meticulously work on updating of the Andhra Pradesh Christian population statistics by conducting awareness camps to reach ALL the Churches. The current official population of A.P. is a mere 1.34%. This is very far from the truth. This is to position the community for obtaining their due share in the power in various political forums and governance points beginning from the Panchayats, Municipalities and to the level of state legislature houses and also to request for their appropriate share in the state's revenue. To set up NCC local bodies in all the Districts of and in all Mandals (known as the Tehsil_the lower geographical revenue division in the state of Andhra Pradesh).
  • To bring an awareness of the democratic processes and to train in the adequate use of the Democratic pillars of: a. Legislature b. Executive c. Judiciary d. Press (Media).
  • To start State level and Regional level bodies throughout the country and to take up specific issues of respective states and their sub regions, prioritizing Christians, minorities and Women's issues.
  • To work for the amendment of Article 341 to include people of SC origin adopting any religion to be eligible for govt. schemes.
  • To work alongside the Government agencies, Non Government agencies and International agencies to achieve the goals and to empower the leaders and the communities we are serving to excel in their leadership.
